The 7615 Dyna 6 was chosen from a field of six machines by a multinational team of judges over six days at New Zealand’s South Island Agricultural Field Days.

Competing against the Massey Ferguson were the Deutz-Fahr M600 Summit, Case IH Puma 160, John Deere 6150M with TLS, Claas Arion 630 CIS and New Holland T6070 Elite.

This year the focus was on value for money, with a price cap set at $140,000 and the proviso that all entrants needed to feature six-cylinder engines.

“We all felt similarly about which tractor should win, and it is the Massey Ferguson 7615 Dyna 6,” Farm Trader technical editor and chief judge Jaiden Drought says. “For a $130,500 machine, it dyno-ed at 145hp at the PTO, which exceeded the manufacturer’s specifications. We felt that the specifications you got for that price were very good.”
