Equipment focus: Toyota Huski 5SDK11 skid steer loader

This Toyota Huski 5SDK11 skid-steer loader is helping a NSW agricultural business get ahead.

The Toyota Huski 5SDK11 skid-steer loader’s ability to handle a large payload while remaining highly manoeuvrable was the driving force behind a NSW agricultural distribution company’s decision to embrace the brand.

Pursehouse Rural says it chose the ‘top dog’ in the Toyota skid-steer range because the Huski 5SDK11 is capable of a 900kg operating load capacity, provides excellent dumping ability and has the power to handle tough applications.

Operated from Pursehouse’s bulk fertiliser and blending plant near its Quirindi head office, the Toyota Huski has been put to work moving solid fertiliser as well as blending fertiliser to its customers’ specific requirements.

Pursehouse Rural director Rod Roseby says the decision to buy a Toyota Huski was an easy one given the company’s existing partnership with Toyota Material Handling Australia (TMHA).

“We have used Toyota forklifts for over 15 years, and after a great working relationship over that time Toyota was the natural choice when we needed to upgrade our skid-steer loader,” he says.

“Given our remote locations, Toyota’s capability to assist us with servicing or technical advice proved that they are the most reliable when it comes to giving our business the best support.”

TMHA Newcastle area sales manager Allan Peacock says the service provided to Pursehouse throughout their partnership has made a big difference to its operations.

“We’re happy that TMHA products have been integral to Pursehouse’s success given how much the company has grown over the past decade or so,” Peacock says.

“We’re able to send out service technicians directly to where the machines are located. In doing so, we gain more understanding of their business, which helps us to help them.

“We know Pursehouse will go from strength to strength and we’ll be there to add another Huski to the line-up when they need it!” he adds.

With a wide range of Toyota Huski skid-steer loaders available, TMHA brand manager Bob Walmsley says there is a Huski suited to just about any application.

“The six models in our Huski skid-steer range start with the 320kg-operating-load 4SDK4 and go right up to the 900kg-rated Huski 5SDK11,” he says.

“They have the power, durability and safety and comfort features you’d expect from a Toyota-backed product, with the after-sales support of a comprehensive, nationwide network of Toyota Material Handling branches and agents.

“That’s a huge benefit for businesses like Pursehouse that operate outside the major metropolitan centres,” Walmsley adds.

Pursehouse Rural has been supplying agricultural products and services to regional Australia for 54 years.
