The agreement covers Cat off-highway truck model series 770 to 775 and Continental tyres in sizes 18.00R33, 21.00R33 and 24.00R35.

“We are happy to announce the cooperation with Caterpillar on top of the launch of our new tyre lines in the mining and construction segment,” Continental key account manager Jan Skaletz says.

“This cooperation underlines the significance that Caterpillar places in innovative technology, the customized solution approach and leading edge technology that Continental now offers in this new industry segment.”

The Continental RDT master tyres feature all-steel radial casings and belt packages. The tyres also have over 20 layers of high-resistance polymer aligned in a v-pattern that Continental says lays the rubber out in a sharper angle, compressing the material slightly and making it more resistant to cuts.

The agreement between Continental and Caterpillar will also see the two companies collaborate on the design of new tyres specifically for Caterpillar’s medium wheel loader and articulated dump truck lines.
