Semco unveils new angled dozer blade option for Takeuchi TB285

Heavy machinery dealer Semco Equipment Sales has introduced a new angled blade option for the Takeuchi TB285 excavator for trench digging and backfilling purposes.

The company says the new blade, available as an optional extra, saves time and resources by enabling an operator to dig a trench and quickly backfill it in a single pass, driving alongside the trench rather than going back and forth to fill it front on.

Built into the TB285’s blade system is a float function that allows the blade to move up and down according to the contours of the earth, following the contour of the ground.

Semco says this also helps the angled blade ‘level off’ more efficiently when working on undulating earth.

Takeuchi Product Manager Stuart Marriott says the blade is another concept developed by Takeuchi’s engineers to make the brand more appealing to operators and contractors at all levels.

“The turbocharged Yanmar powered TB285 was introduced to the Australian market late last year and have quickly gained acceptance as heavy duty, robust, reliable machines suited to a wide range of applications.”

Marriott adds the TB285 is heavier and more productive than its predecessor model – the TB175, as well as carrying with it a bigger cabin to ROPS and FOPS (II) specification for optimum operators’ comfort.

In addition to these changes,  the TB285 also features a new hydraulic system, dial-in auxiliary output control with high flow output to 100 litres per minute and a second port delivering up to 55 litres per day.

“Machine operators will immediately notice the 13 per cent increase in tractive effort, slew torque which is more than 19 per cent more than earlier models and 12 per cent more bucket digging power,” Marriot says.

Other new standard features of the TB285 include an accumulator for safe lowering of the boom with a dead engine, climate controlled air conditioning, auto engine decelerator and return to high-idle and an auto track tensioning system.
