IHI distributor Skid Steers Australia has announced the launch of the company’s all-new V4 series of mini excavators.
There are six models in the series, which replaces the former VX3 models: the 2.5-tonne 25V4; 3.1-tonne 30V4; 3.5-tonne 35V4; 4.7-tonne 45V4; 5-tonne 55V4; and 5.4-tonne 60V4.
IHI Construction Machinery, based in Yokohama, Japan, says the V4 models have been designed around the concepts of safety, comfort, economy and high performance:
Safety features include a ROPS/FOPS compliant canopy/cabin, a master gate lock system, a neutral engine-start system and an auto swing and traction brake.
In terms of comfort, the mini excavators have a roomy cabin with extended legroom, an easy-check monitor and switches centralised near the joystick, and a spare electricity takeoff port (12V-10A).
IHI says the improved economy is attained via lower fuel consumption through auto-idle and eco-mode functions, ‘Tough Track’ as standard equipment (except 25V4), durable single-pin-structured boom swing, easily adjustable pins, thick and strong steel covers and large, wide-open covers for easy checks and maintenance.
Performance, it says, is improved through the use of selectable working modes, a three-pump system for quick response, a large and robust dozer blade and automatically shifted traction.
