Atlas Copco introduces plug-and-play QLB 02 light tower

Atlas Copco’s new QLB 02 light tower is a plug-and-light model which is able to illuminate an area of up to 2,000 square metres via four 400W metal halide luminaires that can take their power from auxiliary power, an electrical generator or the grid.

Destined for use on construction sites, at events or in public spaces, the lights can be manually adjusted to ensure light is provided only where needed, Atlas Copco says.

An optional programmable timer allows users to choose from 84 on/off programmes, including the ability to auto-start at dusk and turn off at dawn.

For large sites, up to four QLB 02 light towers can be connected to a single power source.

A manual lifting system allows users to raise the mast to any height up to 7 metres, while four stabilisers ensure stability on flat or uneven ground, and in winds up to 80 km/h. A rugged frame and metallic canopy provide additional protection.

“The new QLB 02 light tower is designed for simplicity and flexibility, giving users the ability to manoeuvre the light tower to any required site,” says Sergio Salvador, light tower product marketing manager for Atlas Copco’s portable energy division.

“All units are fitted with wheels, forklift pockets and a lifting eye, providing users with a safe and secure method to transport the light tower,” Salvador adds. “What’s more, the light tower is so compact that up to 32 units can be transported on a single truck.”
