Bomag Dash 5 single drum rollers available in Oz

Bomag’s new Dash 5 series of single drum rollers are now available in Australia through local distributor Tutt Bryant Equipment.

The Dash 5 range comprises 10 models spanning 4.5 to 26 tonnes, and Bomag says they’ve undergone extensive design reforms to meet modern requirements.

All models in the Dash 5 range are configured to meet EU Stage IV emissions requirements and feature an ‘ECO’ mode function which can automatically adjust engine power to match demand. Bomag says this feature can deliver fuel savings of up to 30 percent without sacrificing performance. Eco mode can also reduce engine wear and increase the life of the machine.

The full ROPS/FOPS operator’s cab features a compact steering wheel and steering column to give the operator a clearer view of the drum. Visibility is further improved by a reverse camera and oversized windows. The cab is heated, and has been insulated against vibration and loud acoustics.

All service points on the Dash 5 series can be easily accessed from ground level and greasing points have been removed entirely, streamlining maintenance and adding to the roller’s uptime.

Available as an option on the Dash 5 models is Bomag’s Variocontrol system. Variocontrol automatically distributes energy evenly and constantly, preventing over-compaction. Bomag says it also helps minimise the number of passes needed, increasing productivity. By flicking a switch operators can manually set the required amplitude or set it to automatic mode. Icons on the control panel then alert the operator when the desired compaction is reached.
