A new engine and ASV’s Posi-Track technology means operators of its new track loader can benefit from more power whenever they want
ASV’s new RT-50 compact track loader will be fitted with a Yanmar engine for the first time.
The manufacturer has packed the RT-50 with an eight per cent boost in power using the turbocharged 53.8 horsepower (kW) Yanmar diesel engine, giving the track loader a top speed of 11.4km/h.

The machine’s robust hydraulic system, which features 3000psi of auxiliary pressure and a 13.3gpm flow, and its efficient cooling system also boost productivity.
Improvements to traction have been made through the Posi-Track technology, which also results in a more comfortable and smoother ride in the cab. The tracks on the loader are 15-inches wide with weight evenly distributed across the undercarriage.
Manoeuvring the RT-50 has been made easy with a lightweight ground pressure of only 3.0psi, meaning operators can get back to work quicker after wet weather, in addition to the 14.4 inches of ground clearance offered.
Inside the track loader cab are visibility improvements such as a frameless front door, which includes a large glass area, and larger side and rear windows for additional visibility. A rear LED light and adjustable front pedestal light are also included.
Operators have the option for a backup camera to replace the standard rear-view camera.
ASV product manager Buck Storlie says the RT-50 can be used for a myriad of applications.

“The RT-50’s 1,400 pound (635kg) rated operating capacity brings contractor grade performance to our compact machine,” Storlie says.
“It’s light weight at 5180 pounds (2349kg) means it can easily be towed by a pickup or SUV… a great advantage for homeowners, rental companies or contractors who need a very versatile machine.
“The big news of the ASV RT-50 this year is the addition of the Yanmar engine. ASV is super excited to bring Yanmar’s world-renowned reliability to the ASV product.”
ASV says it has also focused on serviceability on the RT-50 with a rear-tilting hood providing three sides of access to the engine.
The direct-drive pump removes the often-labour-intensive belt servicing which comes with belt-driven pumps. Maintenance has also been reduced through individual replaceable steel sprocket rollers and metal-face seals.
