Redstar Equipment has added the Atlas Copco QAC100 Twin Power prime mobile generator to its lineup

The QAC100 generator is a 6m ‘containerised’ unit with two 500kVA generators inside, making it suited to applications with variable power needs. The second generator also works as a backup on jobs requiring less than 500KVA.
“The greatest advantage that the QAC 1100 generator offers our customers is with the two generators in one platform,” Redstar Equipment general manager sales Kevin Ennis says.
“This gives you flexibility because you can run this generator at 100 percent power load or lower power loads. This ensures that you will meet your energy requirements in the most efficient way.”
As a prime mobile generator, the Atlas Copco QAC100 is designed to be easily transportable between jobsites.
“Transportation of the QAC 1100 is simple. This portable generator comes with robust lifting eyes and forklift inlets, enabling quick handling and transportation,” Ennis says.
The Atlas Copco QAC 1100 Twin Power is designed for easy service, with the motor and alternator sets located on opposite sides to give multiple access points to all the main components.
The generator’s components have been tested for durability in severe operating conditions.
“Air, oil and fuel filters for heavy work and rust free, easy to clean fuel allows for a lower risk of breakdown.” Ennis says.
“The spillage free frame reduces any potential environmental impact. It can contain 110 percent of the fluid capacity of the generator.”
If even more power is required, the QAC 1100 can work in tandem with other generators or even alongside mains power.
“To tackle even bigger jobs, the QAC 1100 portable generator with the two QC 4003 controllers, can run alone or in parallel with other generators,” Ennis adds.
“You have the choice of island mode or power management system. You can run the generator in parallel with mains, peak shaving, mains power export/import, fixed power and automatic mains failure.”
