Auger Torque has introduced the new XHT Series of torque heads specifically designed for foundation screw pile applications.
The new torque heads, which are designed and manufactured in-house at Auger Torque’s UK facility, suit machines from as little as 24 tonnes all the way to 50 tonnes.
“Of course Auger Torque’s range of Alignment and Torque Monitoring devices are compatible with the XHT torque heads, giving you a state of the art combination when it comes to installing foundation screw piles,” the company says.
Auger Torque says that both service life and workplace safety have been improved through the use of integral oil conditioning and the company’s proprietary Non Dislodgement Shaft (NDS).
“Standard with the XHT150 and XHT225 and unique to Auger Torque, the Non-Dislodgement Shaft is a single-piece drive shaft assembled top down and locked into the Earth Drill housing,” the company says.
“This design guarantees that the shaft will never fall out, making for a safer work environment, not only for the operator but also any surrounding workers.”
Other features of the XHT Series torque heads, Auger Torque says, are high-quality hydraulic motors, output shaft bearings “which are 50 percent larger than our nearest competitor’s comparable drive” and the use of high-grade materials.
The torque range of the 150-XHT is 64,830Nm to 145,868Nm, while the 225-XHT boasts 130,789Nm to 225,264Nm. Speeds are 4 to 13 rpm and 1.8 to 4.9 rpm respectively.
Both models measure 2,166mm high and 825mm wide, and weigh 2,400kg. There are single-pin, double-pin and double-pin cradle hitch options.
