Brooks Equipment becomes official Sany dealer

Brooks Equipment is now the official dealer for Sany construction equipment in Western Australia, cementing a deal almost two years in the making.

Friday, November 26, 2021, was a momentous day for both Brooks Equipment and Sany Australia, as the Western Australian equipment supplier officially became the local dealer for Sany’s range of construction equipment.

Brooks Hire was the first port of call for Sany business development manager George Fan when he started his search for suitable suppliers of Sany construction equipment back in April 2020.

With over 40 years of experience in earthmoving equipment, and the largest fleet of excavators in Australia, the company was a great place to consider, he thought.

The subsequent phone call with Brooks Hire managing director Stuart Brooks led to Sany offering the company three excavators to trial in its hire fleet.

These excavators arrived in November of that year and were immediately dispatched to excited clients across the state, putting them to work with promising results.

At the time, Brooks Group was expanding to include an equipment sales division, specialising in the sale of new and used earthmoving equipment.

With quality brands such as Husqvarna, Italdem, Genmac, CompAir, Chicago Pneumatic and Euromacchine already on board, Brooks Equipment floated the possibility of also becoming authorised dealers for Sany; an idea which was picked up by Sany Australia and has since come to fruition.

Brooks Equipment general manager Nathan Fenemer says the company wanted to offer customers a chance to buy first-rate equipment at competitive prices.

“Having the opportunity to work with a global leader in construction equipment manufacturing is a privilege and we look forward to showing our customers the incredible value this partnership will deliver them,” he says.

Following the long road of equipment tests, trials and assessments, Brooks Equipment was satisfied that Sany could provide a quality product that would meet and exceed the Australian standards that its customers required.

“Every model that we tested did not miss a beat in over 12 months of hard work,” says Fenemer.

“We know and trust this product and have first-hand experience that we can share with our customers.”

Red letter day

The Brooks Equipment yard was abuzz with activity on November 26 as preparations began for the official Sany WA Dealership Ceremony and Dig Day.

Sany excavators ranging from 1.6 tonnes to 50 tonnes lined the perimeter of the yard, banners flew and the bucket of a SY405 excavator was stacked full of icy cold beverages for over 200 guests in attendance.

It was a sight to behold and only added to the air of excitement within the workshop.

The ceremony itself began with speeches from both Fenemer and Brooks asset manager Vinny Yap, with Yap delivering her speech in Mandarin. Both speakers reflected on the success of the dealership, and the confidence they share in the products to be supplied.

Speeches were also delivered by Sany Australia’s George Fan, Brooks Group managing director Stuart Brooks, Brooks Group CEO Doug Brooks.

These led to additional testimonials to the Sany range, with Stuart commenting: “I’d like to put my personal backing on Sany machinery. They are built solid, and the warranty is industry leading. With Brooks as a dealer, our culture is always service first. Our customers have our full support.”

Guests could give machinery a try in the Dig Pit

Following the speeches, signing of the Certificate of Dealership for Western Australia was completed by Stuart Brooks and George Fan, and all speakers took to the yard to cut a ribbon hanging between two SY50U five-tonne excavators.

Each behind a bow, the Brooks Group and Sany Australia representatives officiated the partnership in the opening of the Western Australian dealership.

Guests were then invited to try a Sany excavator for themselves at the Dig Pit with Brooks equipment sales manager Angelo Francesca on hand to deliver instruction and show the guests the features of the Sany machines.

Since taking on the dealership, the Brooks Group has already taken delivery of all Sany excavator models including several 54.5-tonne SY500H excavators, which were custom fitted with mine specifications such as auto grease, fire suppression and Top Con 3D GPS, to meet the requirements of the market.

The team has also customised a SY215C model with a long reach boom, already delivered and in operation in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

Sany equipment can be purchased from any of the Brooks Equipment branches including its head office in Welshpool, Canning Vale, Bunbury, Albany, Kalgoorlie, Port Hedland, Newman and Karratha. All other construction equipment can be purchased all over Australia from any of the 18 Brooks Equipment branches nationwide.
