BULK2024 proves to be a smashing success

The Australian Bulk Handling Expo (BULK) returned to Melbourne in September, attracting industry leaders to the city for the two-day event

BULK2024 smashed its previous attendance record and companies are already enquiring about the next edition.

The event, which returned to Melbourne from September 18-19 for the first time since 2022, has been hailed by organisers and exhibitors as a huge success.

Exhibitors at BULK2024 included Lincom Group, 4B Australia, Ag Growth International (AGI), Anval, Conveyor Industries, Grydale, Rulmeca and more.

The two-day event brought people from far and wide, sparked industry debates on the two stages and allowed companies to come face-to-face with a number of clients in the one place.

BULK2024 connected people to people and business to business, while showcasing solutions that will help the bulk solids handling industry move their products to where they are needed most – both domestically and internationally.

The event featured an expansive trade show, showcasing the latest solutions for the industry.

It also played host to an informative two-day conference discussing how businesses can take the next step to remain cutting-edge in a constantly changing world.

The dust had barely settled in the aftermath of the event when BULK2024 show director Lauren Chartres was fielding calls about the next edition.

BULK2024 was hailed as an important event for creating industry leads

Speaking to Earthmovers & Excavators in the wake of the event, Chartres highlighted record-breaking attendance numbers and positive feedback from those who exhibited at the event.

“We’re really pleased with the outcomes of BULK2024,” she says.

“We had good feedback from exhibitors within the show and we’re excited about growing this event alongside our major resources exhibitions.”

Engaging panel discussions took centre stage throughout the two day event, featuring industry leaders and innovators. These discussions drew crowds.

“The content program proved to be extremely engaging with our attendees, and we look forward to expanding on this further at the next event,” Chartres adds, when asked about the success of the panel discussion element.

A highlight of the event was the Australian Bulk Handling Awards, which took place on Wednesday, September 18.

“It was wonderful to celebrate industry leaders at the Australian Bulk Handling Awards on Wednesday 18 September,” Chartres says.

“Thank you to our sponsors, ASBSH and Kinder Australia, for their support of innovation in this important sector.”

Reflecting on a busy BULK2024, Chartres says the team is delighted to have improved on 2022 attendance, and that the wheels are already in motion for the next edition of the event.

“Numbers exceeded 2022 and we are thrilled with the feedback we received from attendees,” she says.

“Companies have already been enquiring about the next edition and we’re looking forward to growing this event moving forward.”

Engaging panel discussions attracted eager spectators

Catching up

Lincom Group was among those exhibiting at the event.

Established in 1995, Lincom Group is the parent company for a specialised range of businesses supplying quarry, mining, recycling and forestry industries with the sales, service and hire of screening, crushing, bulk handling, shredding, grinding and water treatment equipment.

Lincom Group boasts operations throughout Australia, Papua New Guinea and the Pacific Islands with service hubs, warehouses and offices located in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and Queensland.

Speaking to Earthmovers & Excavators, Lincom Group’s sales manager Mark Quinn highlights the importance of BULK2024 for allowing companies to catch up with valued clients.

“It was a really good event and a positive experience,” he says.

“There were lots of people there from right across the industry and it was great to catch up with people in person.

“It’s great to have our team on the ground meeting clients from all over the country in one place.”

Generating leads

Quinn also highlights the event as a positive environment for industry leads and potential clients.

“It was definitely a positive experience in terms of talking to people and we definitely got a few decent leads out of it that we’ll be following up on,” he says.

“There was great engagement in the panel discussions as well, which at times meant the stalls were a bit quieter but the footfall picked up again in between discussions so that was great.

“I’d be delighted to go back when it’s on again.”
