Cat’s new dozer, the D7, can move eight per cent more material per hour than its predecessor.
The D7 also provides six per cent more weight, 12 per cent more horsepower (265hp or 197Kw) and 10 per cent more blade capacity than the D7E model it replaces.
Like the D6 and D8T models which sit either side of it in the Cat range, the D7 has a fully automatic four-speed transmission.
A completely redesigned cab also features in the new model, bringing it into line with the D5 and D6/D6 XE dozers.
Features of the cab include a 25cm touchscreen, multiple seat and control adjustments, high definition rearview camera and more space for the operator.

Plenty of background features have been added to the D7 to help make the job easier for operators, with options including a blade load monitor, Slope Indicate and AutoCarry automated blade lift.
Technology in the D7 includes data collection which can be accessed anywhere, smartphone connectivity and the ability for a Cat dealer to perform diagnostic testing remotely.
The D7 is available in standard or low ground pressure configurations and has multiple blade and track shoe choices depending on its intended use.
