CICA to bring crane operations to Converge 2025

Crane Industry Council of Australia (CICA) will bring crane operators, construction companies and government bodies together at Converge 2025

The Crane Industry Council of Australia (CICA) is set to put crane operations in the spotlight at Converge 2025, joining as an Association Partner for Australia’s premier municipal works, civil and commercial construction event.

As the peak body for the crane industry, CICA drives safety, efficiency and innovation in crane operations. Through safety and competency programs – CraneSafe, CrewSafe and StartSafe – along with technical guidance and advocacy, CICA ensures operators and businesses uphold the highest industry standards. The organisation also works closely with government and regulatory bodies to shape policies that enhance safety and productivity across the sector.

CICA CEO Brandon Hitch sees Converge 2025 as an opportunity to connect with the wider construction and infrastructure industry.

“By facilitating networking opportunities and industry collaboration, CICA helps crane and construction businesses access the latest technology, best practices and workforce development initiatives,” says Hitch.

“The crane sector plays a huge role in major projects across Australia, so we want to be at the table, ensuring that lifting operations are front and centre in industry discussions.

“Partnering with Converge 2025 allows us to share our expertise, highlight the importance of safety and innovation, and work alongside other key players to keep improving how we build and develop our cities and infrastructure.”

For CICA, Converge 2025 is about strengthening industry connections – bringing crane operators, construction companies and government bodies together to work more effectively.

“We also want to see better safety and regulation, pushing for improvements in safety standards and smarter regulations that support the industry,” says Hitch.

“Investment in skills and training is equally important, making sure we’re developing the next generation of skilled crane operators.

“Innovation will be a central focus, with new technology and lifting solutions set to shape safer and more efficient worksites.”

Converge 2025 will showcase these priorities through live demonstrations, equipment displays and conference discussions. Designed for municipal works, commercial and civil construction, the event will bring together subcontractors, project engineers, council fleet managers, major contractors, policymakers and industry leaders to address challenges and explore new solutions.
