Whether it’s wasted productivity through underloading or expensive fines for overloading, getting load weights wrong can have disastrous effects on your bottom line. Atlas Weighing says its Compuload on-board weighing systems can save you thousands.
Atlas Weighing has been making on-board weighing systems to suit loaders, excavators, forklifts, telehandlers, backhoes, skid steers and trucks since 1988.
Underloading your machines is simply wasting time and money. Overloading your machines, on the other hand, now falls under workplace ‘chain-of-responsibility’ laws, meaning it’s not just an operator’s responsibility to ensure the right load weight but now management can also be held liable for overloading offences.
The Compuload 5000 and 6000 models are designed for use on loaders, forklifts, skid steers, backhoes and telehandlers. The units are bracket-mounted to the machine, and can be configured to the specific machine, operator or product being loaded.
They feature programmable LED displays and inbuilt non-volatile memory for retaining configuration data. These models can be connected to the Compuload CL4070 compact printer to give operators a hard copy of their work data.
For excavators, Atlas Weighing offers the 3B6 I View system. This system works by attaching sensors to the excavator’s bucket and recording the weight as the bucket is raised. This method loses virtually no time in the process, keeping productivity high.
Atlas Weighing’s Compuload Load Master system is built for trucks. The system uses a series of sensors attached to the truck’s air suspension lines, monitoring how much pressure they’re under.
This is particularly important when it comes to truck safety, as different manufacturers’ specifications for individual axle weights, gross weight and total payload weight can vary significantly.
