Continental introduces CompactMaster EM tyre

The CompactMaster EM tyre has been designed for telehandlers and compact loaders

Continental’s new CompactMaster EM tyre boasts new cut resistance technology that makes it suitable for both agricultural and construction applications.

Continental product line manager agricultural tyres Benjamin Hübner says the CompactMaster EM is specifically designed to help operators handle demanding conditions.

“The tyre features new Turtle Shield tread technology and twisted steel cord. The hard shell, and more flexible steel wire construction, helps to prevent cuts and damages whilst offering greater stability,” he says.

The tyres on telehandlers and compact loaders must deal with higher lateral pressures than most, as the vehicles make stationary turns on hard surfaces, but Hübner says the new technologies make for a more robust tyre, as well as helping prevent punctures.

“The new twisted steel cord construction is part of the unique Turtle Shield design beneath the rubber, which protects the tyre shoulder area from damage like cuts and penetration from foreign objects,” he says.

The tyre has a higher amount of rubber with a finely structured block to offer better mileage and easier stationary turns.

“The CompactMaster EM has been designed by our research and development team. Production take place in our state-of-the-art production plant in Lousado, Portugal,” adds Hübner.

The CompactMaster EM tyre has been designed for vehicles that work on paved surfaces, asphalt, sand and gravel, and is capable of operating at speeds of up to 50km/h.

“The ability to travel at higher speeds offer the potential to save valuable time,” says Hübner.
