Deere boosts compact loader grade control tech

John Deere has upgraded the technology available for its 333G compact track loader as the manufacturer looks to expand the capabilities for operators on-site.

The new 333G SmartGrade compact track loader helps operators get the job done

SmartGrade – John Deere’s proprietary grade control technology, will now be integrated into the 333G compact track loader.

The addition of SmartGrade marks the first time a fully integrated grade control technology has been available to John Deere’s compact equipment.

John Deere construction and forestry solutions marketing manager Luke Gribble says creating leading-edge technology to improve equipment is at the forefront of its priorities.

“By adding SmartGrade technology into the 33G compact track loader, we are proving our customers with the industry’s first-ever machine fully integrated with grade control technology, helping them do more with less on the job,” he says.

SmartGrade technology enables operators of the 333G to take on new tasks and larger jobs which require accuracy and is adept for working in site development, roadbuilding, landscaping and residential and commercial building operations.

John Deere says the technology kicks in automatically on grading tasks, helping operators complete them with fewer passes and less reworking when compared to working without grade control technology.

Adding the SmartGrade technology to the 333G also makes the unit more versatile, given its compact size when compared to larger fleets and equipment, enabling it to deliver precise grading performance while eliminating vulnerable masts and cables.

Adding to the integration of SmartGrade technology, John Deere has also launched DozerMode – a breakthrough control solution which enables the EH joystick control system to function like a crawler dozer with the push of a button.

DozerMode includes a newly designed six-way dozer blade attachment that can both cut a grade and spread materials, benefiting operators by streamlining the attachment needs and setup time.

The blade has been fine-tuned to meet performance needs of compact track loader and does not require tools to change between other attachments.

Like SmartGrade, DozerMode also enhances the versatility of the machine by accurately and automatically cutting or finishing light materials in tight spaces.

Together, John Deere’s two new upgrades to its compact track loaders will reduce the amount of operator input required which in turn, will lower operator fatigue.
