After a crowd of over 30,000 attended the recent Diesel, Dirt & Turf expo in Penrith, NSW, the organisers have announced that the event will be repeated in April next year.
Held at the Penrith Panthers Club on 15-17 April, the show was organised by a group of companies involved in Australia’s earthmoving and construction industry.
Earthmovers & Excavators magazine and its sister website TradeEarthmovers.com.au were event media partners and had a stand at the expo, and we were amazed at the amount of leads and sales being generated over the three days.
Livio Pace of Boss Attachments says he was literally “blown away” by the huge crowd that included machinery attachment buyers who generated around $1 million in sales for his company.
“We could have closed up on Friday and been very happy with the outcome,” he says. “Even bigger sales occurred on Saturday, while the crowd on our stand on Sunday was unprecedented.
“Typically from a show of this type we receive a number of enquiries and follow-up for months afterwards. Not this time! People were there to buy on the spot. We’re not talking about small items – these sales were for $50,000 to $100,000 pieces of equipment.”
Expo manager Steve Zivkovich says the industry members who had supported their own event were now reaping the rewards of their confidence in participating: “The industry has put its best foot forward to make the Expo a success … and what a success it was!”
Next year’s show, which is booked in at the same venue on 21-23 April 2017, promises to be even bigger, with new exhibitors signing up on the spot and current ones promising to return.
“As with most of the other exhibitors I spoke to during the event, we’ll be back next year with a major presence,” Livio Pace says. “This event is definitely a ‘must attend’ for the earthmoving and construction industry.”
