EEA expands with Bergmann site dumper dealership

Sydney-based Earthmoving Equipment Australia has taken on a Bergmann Dumper dealership, adding the German-made earthmovers to its existing range of Thwaites site dumpers, Case Construction Equipment, Auger Torque attachments and Weber MT compaction equipment.

The latest acquisition means that EEA — which is based in the Western Sydney suburb of Arndell Park and has branches in Thornton, near Newcastle, and Queanbeyan, near Canberra — now provides all earthmoving equipment for digging, moving and placing material, according to director Chris Newton.

“Being a specialist dumper dealer we have all the solutions for moving and placing material accurately for all large or small scale sites,” he says. “We also provide a personal service that means our customers walk away with the best products for their needs.”

Bergmann Dumpers makes a range of compact dumpers for loads which range from 1.6 to 25 tonnes and are suited to a range of applications from building and road construction to landscaping, tunnel construction and demolition work.

The company’s products have a reputation for being ahead of their time — the very first dumper to leave the Bergmann factory in 1962 featured front wheel drive, rear wheel steering and a hydraulic three-way tipping mechanism.

Newton says the Bergmann product he’s most excited about is the 3012 Plus site dumper, which has a 12-tonne carry capacity with 180-degree swivel skip and 180-degree swivel operating station — the only one in its class.

“The Bergmann 3012 Plus is the largest 180-degree swivel dumper in the world today with a capacity of carrying and unloading 12 tonnes of material with accuracy,” he says. “Other brands may use the number ‘12’ in their model numbers, but you need to be careful as they are only 10-tonne carry capacity — with worker safety being the number factor in today’s market you don’t want to get into trouble overloading your dumpers.”

The 180-degree swivel operating station makes the 3012 Plus the safest dumper in the market, Newton says, as it provides better vision for the operator in all working situations.

Another feature of Bergmann dumpers is a full-time 4WD system running on an articulating and oscillating frame, a system which allows work to continue in a range of harsh conditions and terrains and ensures stability and traction for the operator.

The new Bergmann models complement Earthmoving Equipment Australia’s current lineup of English Thwaites site dumpers, which Newton says are “the world’s leading site dumpers, and have been for over 40 years”.

“EEA now supplies the largest hire companies in Australia with the Thwaites range,” he says. “Thwaites dumpers are able to move more material, in all conditions with more accuracy than any other earthmoving assets, leading to a noticeable increase in site productivity.”

The Thwaites range starts with the 1-tonne Hi-Tip Hydrostatic Site Dumper and Power Swivel Hydrostatic Site Dumper and goes through to the 10-tonne Front Tip Power Shuttle and Power Shift site dumpers.

“With safety being a priority for all contractors EEA knows that Bergmann and Thwaites will provide the very best ability for contractors to safely move and place bulk materials on all large or small work sites,” Newton says.
