EOI released for Swanbourne Station

The WA government is looking for expressions of interest for the development of land next to Swanbourne Station

The WA government is looking for ideas from developers with regards to a 1.8-hectare site of state-owned land adjacent to Swanbourne Station on the Perth to Freemantle train line.

The opportunity offers potential for housing, businesses, shops and public spaces.

Cedar Woods Properties Ltd has submitted a proposal to redevelop the land within the railway reserve adjacent to Swanbourne train station, under the state government’s Market-led Proposals Policy.

This development opportunity is now being offered to the market through an Expressions of Interest process, with Cedar Woods granted a first mover advantage.

“This Expression of Interest is being offered to seek innovative ideas to transform the Swanbourne Station precinct into a vibrant community hub for Swanbourne and surrounding suburbs,” Acting Treasurer John Carey says.

“The proposal submitted by Cedar Woods has been assessed against the MLP criteria and is now offered to the market under a competitive expressions of interest process.

“We are looking for a development outcome that supports and creates local jobs, bolsters housing supply and offers community amenities, while enhancing the performance of the Swanbourne Station and MetroNet objectives.”

Responses to the invitation for Expression of Interest will close on January 19, 2024, and can be submitted through TendersWA.
