Described as “the largest rail industry event in Australasia”, AusRAIL PLUS 2015 is expected to draw thousands of rail professionals and leaders from government, engineering, manufacturing and operations to the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre on 24-26 November.
“A comprehensive plan for growth and employment in the Australian rail industry is achievable if we do things smarter and productively,” Australasian Railway Association interim chairman Bob Herbert says.
“AusRAIL PLUS 2015 will provide a platform for all stakeholders to engage, discuss and contribute to the establishment of a cohesive long term infrastructure pipeline for rail under the important theme of ‘Doing it Smarter. People, Power, Performance’.”
That theme will drive presentations by 120 leading authorities, including Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews, National Rail Safety Regulator CEO Sue McCarrey, deputy prime minister and minister for infrastructure and regional development Warren Truss, and shadow minister for infrastructure and regional development Anthony Albanese.
Among the 450 companies exhibiting are the Australian Centre for Rail Innovation, Downer, Siemens, Thales, UGL, Bombardier, Leighton and John Holland.
