The National Diesel Dirt &Turf Expo is not only Australia’s largest earthmoving equipment Expo; it’s also the place where everyone from the industry meets, networks and appreciates the great feeling of camaraderie generated by this annual event.
It’s an industry that’s well known for people who are willing to help out industry colleagues, and nowhere is this better demonstrated than the tradition set by the Expo to raise money for worthy charities and causes.
Giving back to the community
The inaugural Diesel Dirt &Turf Expo golf day in 2018 raised money for MIRAA House, a not for profit, learning and life skills centre that offers a post school program for women with an intellectual disability. These women are taught essential life skills to become more independent, develop their self-confidence, build and maintain relationships and connect with the community while planning for the future.
This year the golf day is being held on Friday, 15th March 2019 and will raise money for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF), sponsored by Digga Australia, whose CEO and managing director, Suzie Wright sadly passed away during the year after fighting ovarian cancer for 15 months.
Leading the company for over a decade, Suzie was responsible for several successes including the consolidation of its Australian operations; successfully integrating Kanga Loaders into the Digga business and establishing a large manufacturing plant in the US.

Understanding Ovarian Cancer
The Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF) is Australia’s leading independent body dedicated to national ovarian cancer research. The OCRF was established in May 2000 by co-founders, gynaecological oncology specialist, associate professor Thomas Jobling and business woman, Liz Heliotis.
Ovarian cancer is lethal because there is currently no way to accurately detect the disease in its early stages. As a result, most women are diagnosed with advanced stage ovarian cancer and only 20-25 percent survive beyond five years. In Australia, one woman dies every eight hours from ovarian cancer The OCRF is committed to changing these statistics.
The OCRF receives no government funding and relies solely on the financial support of corporate Australia and the broader community. Money raised supports ovarian cancer research to save women’s lives through early detection and personalised treatment.
The venue for the 2019 Diesel Dirt & Turf Expo annual charity golf day is the championship Twin Creeks Golf and Country Club at Luddenham. This popular event kicks off with a 6.30am breakfast, followed by a putting competition with prizes and then on to the main event.
“It’s a great way to build networking with others in the industry and enjoying a great day while raising money for charity” said expo manager Marti Zivkovich.

In addition to funds raised by the entry green fees, there is a raffle for amazing prizes, and auction with Digga Australia is generously donating a great prize of a Kanga loader. There are loads of other prizes to be won: nearest the pin, longest drive and more.

Bigger and better
This national expo continues to attract large crowds of participants in the earthmoving industry, their colleagues, associates and friends who check out the latest technology and deals from the more than 200 exhibitors. With more than 76,000 people attending in 2018, the Expo is set to be even bigger and better in 2019.
The dates for the 2019 National Diesel Dirt &Turf Expo are Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th May 2019 at Panthers Penrith.
This popular venue is conveniently located at the centre of Western Sydney. Entry to the Expo is free and there’s plenty of free parking, lots of accommodation for people planning a visit over several days and easy access by freeway and public transport.
Western Sydney is one of the country’s fastest growing regions through population increase and the impact of major infrastructure projects such as the Badgery’s Creek airport under construction and associated services and businesses that are being attracted to the area.
Wide visitor appeal
While be first year of the Expo attracted mostly Western Sydney locals, subsequent years have seen increasing numbers of visitors from interstate, mostly Responding to the national interest and broad industry support for Diesel Dirt & Turf, 2018 saw large numbers of visitors coming from interstate and overseas.
