Agromek 2018 highlights

Denmark’s Agromek show attracted big name machines and thousands of visitors. Chris McCullough took a tour of the highlights of the show

Hailed as the largest agricultural expo in Northern Europe, the latest Agromek show attracted over 40,000 visitors at the end of November.

Held every two years in Herning, Denmark, Agromek showcases the latest farm and construction machinery to hit the market as well as livestock equipment and robotic technology.

Taking a trip around the halls it is clear to see robotic technology, in all its forms, is becoming more popular within both the construction and agricultural sectors.

With specific focus on seeding, weeding and planting in agri circles, robots that can cut verge side grass and brush roads were also on display.

In the construction side all the big names were present at the show including Hydrema, Hidromek, Manitou and Mustang.

Same story goes for the agri side with Claas and John Deere having significant presence alongside some other interesting exhibits from Pitbull, Ropa and Gehl.

Agromek’s director, Claus Hermansen, said: “I am extremely pleased that we can note that more and more halls get filled. There is a considerable interest for exhibiting at Agromek. With more than 470 exhibitors and sold stands amounting to 41,000 square metres, we are currently on the same level as the same period which we attained two years ago at Agromek”
