Gates Australia announces new Melbourne site

The fluid and transmission company will be moving to a larger office and warehouse in Dandenong South

Gates Australia, a manufacturer of application-specific fluid power and power transmission solutions, has announced that it will be moving to a new office and warehouse building located in Dandenong South.

Due to the significant growth of the business in recent years, the new building will offer more space and increased safety and sustainability measures for employees and the environment.

The new building will cover 11,793 square metres and offer four loading docks, an 860 square metre, two-storey corporate office and 118 car spaces.

The new building will offer state-of-the-art safety features including larger staging areas, one-way truck traffic and dedicated manual picking aisles. These safety measures are designed to minimise risk and ensure the wellbeing of employees, it says.

In addition to the increased safety measures, the new facility is also designed with sustainability in mind. The building offers a variety of energy-efficient systems including high efficiency LED lighting, a 99kWh PV solar system, EV chargers, rainwater harvesting, high performance glazing and drought tolerant landscaping. These systems will help to reduce the facility’s environmental impact and ensure a sustainable future for the company and the community, Gates says.

“We are thrilled that we have the opportunity to invest in the future of Gates in Australia,” Gates Australasia managing director Rainer Wuenste says.

“The new office will be modern and ergonomic and will foster teamwork and collaboration amongst the team in a welcoming environment. The new warehouse will provide a safe and up-to-date work environment for our employees on the shop floor.

“The new facility will accommodate the company’s growing business needs and will allow us to improve our service and supply to our valued customers in Australia and New Zealand.”
