Three female agitator truck drivers are working on the road in Central West NSW as part of Holcim’s Women on Wheels program
Holcim Australia’s Women on Wheels (WoW) program has expanded to NSW, with a team of female agitator truck drivers now working in the Central West of the state.
Women on Wheels has been running globally since 2021, growing to more than 15 countries across five continents. Holcim Australia joined the program with a Victorian pilot in 2024.
The first NSW intake attracted more than 100 applicants. A shortlist of 20 candidates progressed through a training pathway covering heavy vehicle licensing, concrete slumping and skid-pan instruction. Three women successfully completed the program and joined Holcim’s logistics team in the region.

The three drivers are now supplying into the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ), Australia’s first official REZ and one of the most significant energy infrastructure projects in the country’s history. The zone will connect 7.7 gigawatts of wind and solar projects – enough to power more than two million homes each year. It is expected to attract up to $25 billion in private investment and support around 1,850 direct jobs during construction, with close to 1,000 ongoing roles from 2034.
For the participants, the experience has been as rewarding personally as it has professionally. The program has built confidence, camaraderie and a genuine sense of pride in the work and in each other.
Women on Wheels is part of Holcim’s broader commitment to building a more diverse workforce and creating meaningful pathways into the construction and resources sectors for women. The program will return later this year on the North Coast of NSW, continuing to open doors in communities across the country.
