Komatsu Australia has set up a 350 tonne capacity track press at its new Wacol facility in Brisbane, allowing the business to work on some of the largest mining equipment in the industry.
The machine, supplied by track maintenance equipment supplier WTC Machinery, gives Komatsu the ability to work on the tracks of large dozers, excavators and hydraulic shovels of any make on the market.
The press features high ram speeds, adjustable ram force and a hydraulic track hold-down clamp to ensure safe, rapid track disassembly and reassembly.
The new track shop is part of the new 55,000 sq m Wacol facility, and incorporates a MT 10,000 digital track pad tensioning device for fast and accurate tensioning.
Services available through the new Wacol track shop include:
- Pin and bush turns, which essentially give tracks a second life
- Pin and bush replacement
- Vacuum test and re-lube for sealed/lubricated tracks
- Remove and fitment of grouser plates
- All general repairs.
Customers can also arrange for a free undercarriage inspection with Komatsu which will be carried out by a trained Customer Support Sales representative.
Komatsu Australia Queensland Regional General Manager Dean Gaedtke says customers can be rest assured that their machinery undercarriage needs will be taken care of with Komatsu’s new track press.
