Construction, earthmoving and truck industry supplier Sydney Trucks and Machinery (STM) has acquired Siteworx Machinery in Wollongong, renaming it South Coast Trucks and Machinery (SCTM).
Kobelco Construction Machinery Australia General Manager, Sales and Service, Doug McQuinn announced the news, saying: “This move will strengthen STMs footprint for sales and service of Kobelco machinery into the South Coast, Illawarra and the ACT.”
STM Sales Manager Roy Papallo says the company was looking to expand its operations into other parts of NSW, and Siteworx’s strong reputation in the local industry made it an attractive acquisition.
“STM is a successful, reputable family business that has been in operation since 1974,” Papallo says. “We saw in the Siteworx team many shared values including a strong focus on product expertise and delivering on customer needs. It’s great to welcome the new members of our team to the family.”
South Coast Trucks and Machinery’s will continue to lead the team to ensure a smooth transition and that customers in the Illawarra, South Coast and ACT regions continue to get the outstanding level of service they’re familiar with.
“On a day-to-day level nothing will change,” SCTM Sales Manager Ray Collings says. “The same team our customers have always enjoyed working with will continue to deliver the same high standard of service. In fact, the team will have access to a wider network of stock and parts, making service times shorter.”
“When Siteworx Co-Director Carol Collings and I entered into this agreement, it was very important to us to ensure that the business our team worked so hard to develop would continue to grow. We’re confident that South Coast Trucks and Machinery will continue to service the local industry effectively,” he says.
SCTM says one of its first objectives will be to identify and relocate to new, larger premises in the Wollongong area with larger and improved sales, service and spare parts facilities.
