The asset management capabilities of SMEC and its wholly owned subsidiary GMC Global are being integrated today, with GMC rebranding to SMEC — formerly the Snowy Mountains Engineering Corporation.
In a statement SMEC says the move to a unified brand is supported by the management of GMC Global — which it acquired in January 2012 — and will help the company deliver seamless engineering services and whole-of-life asset management services.
“We are looking forward to delivering asset management solutions under the SMEC brand and building stronger partnerships with our global clients,” SMEC CEO Andy Goodwin says.
“The integration of GMC Global and SMEC will create a competitive advantage for our business through our combined service offering, exposure to new industries and an increased geographic presence.
“The SMEC business is excited about the transition as it reinforces our culture to provide high quality results for our clients, as well as creating exciting new opportunities for our people.”
GMC Global has operations located in Australia, Africa, Asia, North America and South America.
