ACE Expo Queensland 2015 cancelled

Next month’s Australian Construction Equipment (ACE) Expo Queensland has been cancelled due to “the current state of the Queensland market”, according to organisers Exhibitions & Trade Fairs.

In a letter to exhibitors sent this morning, ETF Industrial Division portfolio director Luke Kasprzak says the move has been made following extensive consultation with the host, the Construction and Mining Equipment Industry Group (CMEIG), and the broad construction equipment industry.

Kasprzak says the event, which was scheduled to take place at Brisbane’s Eagle Farm Racecourse from 14-16 May 2015, has been “postponed” to 2016.

“We sincerely thank you for supporting the event and apologise for any inconvenience this change of dates may have caused,” Kasprzak writes. “The decision to postpone has not been taken lightly but the change is believed to be in the best interests of the success of the show and of exhibitors.

“While we believe the future for the show is excellent, we understand from feedback received from the construction and mining equipment industry, that postponing the show is the best option in the interests of maximising its success and in the interests of exhibitors.

“Subject to the finalisation of dates and consultation with both CMEIG and the venue, the event will be rescheduled to 2016 at approximately the same time.”

He says exhibitors’ current ACE Expo Queensland contracts will remain in place for the 2016 event, as will allocated locations.

The move does not affect the ACE Expo Victoria 2015 show which is to be held in Melbourne in November, Kasprzak says, with the event “still on-target to exceed exhibitor and visitor expectations with its new indoors ‘trade show’ format.
