Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia (HCA) is now the sole distributor of Wenco International Mining Systems fleet management solutions throughout Australia, New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea and New Zealand through CablePrice (NZ).
Wenco, which has been providing fleet management services to the open cut mining industry for over 25 years, has recently acquired Brisbane-based Automated Positioning Systems (APS) for its standalone high precision guidance systems and drilling integrated fleet solutions.
HCA says the exclusive sales and distribution agreement — which includes operations, parts and support — melds its products and services with Wenco’s established fleet management system (FMS) and expertise in production optimisation, asset health, safety and systems connectivity for mining operations.
The combined product alignment “delivers a genuinely scalable solution for any size or type of mine and quarry” it says, adding that sales and support will be offered in both Brisbane and Perth.
HCA managing director David Harvey says the move will underpin the company’s growth in the mining technology sector throughout the Pacific region: “We now have the product range, sales and support network to increase the HCA and Wenco market penetration significantly.”
HCA is working on integrating existing standalone in-field high precision guidance systems into the FMS product suite to provide customers with a low cost option for future upgrade to a full fleet management system.

Wenco’s international headquarters is located in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada. It has regional staff located in Australia, Chile, South Africa, Guinea, Burkina Faso, Ireland, Russia, India and the United States.
