Brookfield Multiplex wins aged care facility contract
Brookfield Multiplex has been appointed by aged-care provider Greengate to deliver the $80 million St Patrick’s Green Aged Care and Retirement Village in Kogarah, NSW.
The new 21,000 square metre development in the Sydney suburb will include three buildings set above a two level shared basement car park and will comprise 105 independent living units, as well as a 92-room residential aged care facility that has the capacity for 100 beds.
Brookfield Multiplex says it has extensive experience in constructing aged care facilities, and welcomed the new addition.
"We are delighted to be delivering another project to meet the high demand for aged care facilities in NSW," Brookfield Multiplex regional managing director David Ghannoum says.
"We commenced work on The Terraces in Paddington late last year and are currently about to complete the Mark Moran seniors living village in Vaucluse.
"Brookfield Multiplex has worked collaboratively with Greengate over the past eighteen months to complete the early works and reach contract close."
As well as the new housing units, the retirement village will also have a communal lawn and colonnade, commercial kitchen and laundry, resident’s café, lounge, theatrette, dining halls, hair salon and a gym.
The proposed facility is positioned on the former Bethany College site. Brookfield Multiplex recently completed decommissioning the old college buildings to make way for the St Patrick’s Green development.
Construction of St Patrick’s Green Aged Care and Retirement Village is scheduled for completion by late 2017.
