New scanning product manager at Position Partners

Geospatial technology specialist Position Partners has appointed Paul Malatzky as its new Australasian product manager for scanning systems.

Malatzky will take over responsibilities for 3D laser scanning and mobile mapping technology throughout Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia.

Malatsky comes into the role with over 20 years’ experience as a certified engineering surveyor working in the mining, local government, offshore and engineering industries in Australia, New Zealand and Europe.

“As an early pioneer for the distribution of mass data capture technology in Australia, including mobile mapping systems and survey drones, I am excited to join the Position Partners team in what is an exciting time for the survey and geospatial industries,”Malatzky says.

Paul Malatzky gained a keen interest in mass data capture technology when he was introduced to multibeam sonar scanning on offshore projects.

Since then he has worked extensively with mobile mapping and 3D laser scanning technology, most recently as scanning manager for Australian surveying group Land Surveys.

“We are delighted to welcome Paul to the Position Partners team,” Position Partners geospatial business manager Cameron Waters says.

“His wealth of expertise and understanding of data delivery as a surveyor will be a fantastic asset to the company and our customers.”

Malatzky will be based out of Position Partners’ Balcotta office in Perth and will have responsibility for Z+F and Topcon 3D laser scanning products, along with Topcon mobile mapping systems and all associated software.

“Surveyors have never had such choice when it comes to the technology they can use for any given application, Malatzky says.

“I look forward to strengthening Position Partners’ role in offering industry-leading solutions backed by unparalleled support for our customers.”
