Like many exhibitions and public events, the National Diesel Dirt & Turf Expo is planning for when the New South Wales government relaxes its social distancing regulations as a result of Covid-19.

The Expo has been rescheduled for Friday, October 16 to Sunday, October 17, 2020.

“Our business has not really been affected by the Covid-19 situation, and certainly we have many customers whose business is booming in the current environment,” ShawX Manufacturing’s Donna Shaw says.

“When the coronavirus arrived, we had some thoughts that it may affect the construction industry, however the opposite has proved true. We are extremely busy producing and selling our specialised attachments across many markets such as mining and earthmoving equipment.

“Our whole sales team is flat out servicing inquiries and production running at full capacity. Based on current indications, that situation should remain. The majority of our market is commercial construction and that market has a strong demand for the tools that we manufacture.

“We remain optimistic about the business for the rest of the year however our planning includes some discussion on contingencies if the situation changes. At this stage everything is fine.

“We are proudly an Australian manufacturer that sources everything from within Australia as we firmly believe in Australia’s manufacturing future. It’s not always easy to achieve this goal, however this is our philosophy.”

Lionel Smitka from Digga/Kanga agrees. He said product demand in the Australian market was extremely strong, with construction projects showing no signs of slackening off and likely to continue for the foreseeable future.

“The current level of enquiries is extremely strong. Part of the reason for this may be that many people are staying at home and undertaking their home improvement projects that may have been planned for some time.

“Our Kanga customers, who are predominantly smaller contractor businesses, are as busy now as they have ever been and this trend shows no sign of slackening off. Similarly, medium-sized businesses and other companies who are involved in civil works are also very busy, with demand for equipment remaining very buoyant.

“Basically, our Australian business has been unaffected by the coronavirus situation and we see the strong demand remaining with this for the foreseeable future.”

AUSTRALIA’S BIGGEST EARTHMOVING EXPO

Now in its fifth year, the National Diesel Dirt & Turf Expo has become firmly established as the premier earthmoving industry event that continues to attract support from all market sectors in earthmoving, infrastructure, residential development, public works and public space management.

Virtually every major earthmoving brand as well as accessories and services as represented, therefore anyone involved in supplying services to the industry finds it and unmissable event.

Only at Diesel Dirt & Turf can visitors check out such a huge range of earthmoving equipment at the same time and in the one place. The National Diesel Dirt & Turf Expo is the best place to be part of the excitement of being up close to large earthmoving machinery, attachments, GPS and digital management systems, accessories, and finance.

“You cannot afford to miss out on this annual event if you want to ensure your business remains efficient and competitive in today’s challenging construction environment.”
