ITR Pacific offers premium undercarriage parts

Since expanding its branch network across Australia and working directly with customers, ITR Pacific’s range of undercarriages has grown by leaps and bounds

ITR Pacific has expanded its offering with undercarriage track workshops

Australia’s tough mining and earthmoving conditions elevate a machine’s undercarriage to greater importance.

Not only must the undercarriage of machines used across heavy-duty applications be reliable and capable of performing in the field, but the componentry is also expensive, with some saying that the undercarriage components can represent as much as 50 per cent of the cost of owning a machine.

That is why ITR Pacific has manufactured premium undercarriage products designed to provide reliable performance and, at the same time, offers its customers a cost-effective alternative to original equipment manufacturers.

The company produces a range of aftermarket undercarriage components suitable for most makes of earthmoving machines, such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo CE, Hitachi, Hyundai, Doosan and Kobelco.

Based out of Yatala in southeast Queensland; with four branches in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, and Kalgoorlie; the company boasts a complete undercarriage component range of track chains, track groups, track shoes, rollers, idlers, and sprockets.

The parts are designed, engineered, and manufactured in ITR factories in Italy, South Korea, and China; with stringent controls at each step of the production process, from the selecting of raw materials to the physical manufacturing of the part – something that ITR Pacific director Graeme Lehmkuhl says makes it stand out against competitors.

“We fall under the USCO group of companies, which is the world’s largest supplier of aftermarket earthmoving machinery parts. USCO owns their manufacturing facilities, which gives ITR full control of the production process, ensuring an excellent combination of quality and service throughout the wide range of products,” Lehmkuhl says.

“The majority of our competitors don’t own the factories they are sourcing from, so they don’t have much input on the quality of the product. ITR products are controlled through 15 quality and testing labs around the world, giving ITR far bigger insight into the product and control over the quality of the parts.”

By selling directly to the end-user, ITR Pacific is more in touch with the industry and the operators who use its parts. This gives it a better understanding of customers’ needs and the conditions the machines are working in.

To facilitate its commitment to the earthmoving sector across Australia, ITR Pacific has expanded its service offerings with the addition of undercarriage track workshop facilities at its branches in Yatala, Sydney and Perth, with the latter due to open within the next six months.

In addition to the new workshops, on-site rubber track installation services are also available.

ITR Pacific says the developments will allow the business to offer customers an end-to-end service on ITR-branded products and components. Using 250-tonne track presses, customers will be able to turn the pins and bushes on their larger track chains, increasing the lifespan of the chains.

Other technologies will help the undercarriage perform in tough conditions, like the hydraulic torque wrench, which ensures track bolts are torqued to the correct specification to avoid track shoes coming loose from the chain.

ITR Pacific’s product support team will also carry out professional free undercarriage wear inspections, which includes detailed reports using ITR WearTek Plus.

The ITR undercarriage track workshops further compliment ITR Pacific’s mindset of supporting the industry by servicing its customers all in one place and with the utmost reliability.

“The purpose of having our own track shops is to show our commitment and support to the industry and show that we can perform maintenance on our undercarriage components,” Lehmkuhl says.

“It drives business and gives customers the confidence knowing: ‘If I buy the product, I know ITR can also service the product.’”
