John Deere brings new E-Series Skid Steers and Compact Track Loaders to Australia

John Deere’s new range of E-Series skid steer loaders and compact track loaders (CTLs), which aims to improve uptime and productivity while lowering daily operating costs, is now available in Australia.

Designed with extensive customer input, the range consists of eight models. There are four skid-steer models - three mid-frame (318E, 320E, 326E) and one large-frame (332E). On the CTL side, there are two mid-frame models (319E, 323E) and two large-frame ones (329E, 333E).

The range is powered by Yanmar 3.3 or 3.1 litre diesel engines. The mid-size frame models feature engines delivering less than 75hp and are Tier 3/Stage 3A emission compliant, while the large-frame units, with greater than 75hp engines, meet Interim Tier 4/Stage 3B standards.

Operator comfort and productivity in the large-frame skid steers and CTLs has been boosted by lower noise levels and a flat-floor design which provides 33 percent more foot room than previous models.

In addition, all models include low-effort electro-hydraulic (EH) controls with a performance package for additional comfort and ease of operation. The EHP controls enable the operator to not only change the control pattern, but also select the propel aggressiveness for boom and bucket rate control, including creep mode.

Australian distributor Hitachi Construction Machinery says other new standard features include connect-under-pressure auxiliary hydraulic couplers keyless start and a programmable courtesy lighting feature that automatically shuts the machine lights off after operation.

On the mid-frame side of things, the models are now more versatile, with an optimised boom design that Hitachi says provides best-in-class boom and bucket breakout throughout the lift path. It also offers greater reach at truck-bed height, improved dump angle and increases lift height to the hinge pin.

“The E-Series skid steers and compact track loaders are one of the finest examples of customer-driven product development the John Deere Commercial Worksite Products group has ever offered,” Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia national light equipment product manager Nina Gibson says.
