Komatsu Australia has announced the release of the new Hensley Bladesaver QM wheel loader lip system for its WA500 and equivalent sized wheel loaders for quarry and mining applications.
Part wear is a major productivity factor for machinery on the job site and wheel loader buckets in particular are put through strenuous work every day. Komatsu says the new Hensley Bladesaver QM provides protection along the front edge of your loader bucket, reducing replacement costs and downtime.
The attachment forms a streamlined profile by fitting flush against the lip of the bucket with large teeth that provide increased load penetration, resulting in reduced wear on the base lip. The underside of the lip is completely smooth which reduces resistance that results in tyre wear and uncomfortable jolts for the operator. This also helps to keep quarry floors smooth and free of debris which helps everyone on site.
Komatsu says the Bladesaver system is fully integrated, and that each component fits together and is held in place both individually and by the weight of the other parts. All components are based around Hensley’s hammerless pin system which only requires the use of conventional tools to remove and replace them. This results in operators not needing hammers to replace parts, reducing the risk of injury.
“This system offers full lip coverage, with minimal gaps between each shroud and tooth,” Komatsu Australia business development manager Rod McCallum says.
A range of different teeth, end caps and corner protectors are also available to further strengthen your bucket. A universal vertical shroud provides increased protection for the bucket walls and can actually be used in multiple locations on either side of the bucket.
The Bladesaver system also features a new square-shaped tooth design that Komatsu says provides greater strength and penetration.
