Komatsu relocates Wollongong depot

Komatsu has relocated its Wollongong depot after nearly three decades of operations

The manufacturer announced the relocation at the end of January with a new branch set to boost the servicing capabilities in the region.

The decision to move the facility follows 26 years of operation at the old Doyle Avenue location. Operations for the south New South Wales coast will now be performed at a new 600 square metre facility at 32 Lady Penrhyn Drive, Unaderra.

Wollongong branch manager Eric De Gois says the new facility is ‘far beyond the old depot in many ways’ and will accommodate ongoing business growth to allow the company to enhance its capabilities for customer support in the region.

The Lady Penrhyn Drive facility will stock a range of parts, components and consumables specific to the profile of machines operating in the region. Additional tooling for specialist service jobs will also be held there.

“The depot will support Komatsu’s small to mid-size civil and earthmoving customers, owner-operators and tradies, local government and quarries in the region, and will continue to support all sizes of equipment across the Komatsu range,” Komatsu says in the official announcement.
