Western Australian equipment hire business Loadex has moved into sales, becoming the exclusive Kobelco dealership in the state.
The Loadex move comes after a decade of providing Kobelco equipment to the rental market, with the company now boasting more than 110 Kobelco excavators.
Its hire customers come from all parts of the construction industry, from large civil and drainage contractors to smaller-end electricians and plumbers.
Loadex founder Gary Singleton says his sales arm will be working with the same parts of the industry.
“Our hire and sales businesses will work together to ensure our customers are taken care of,” he says. “If a customer comes to us needing a machine we can provide them with something from the hire range until their new machine arrives.
“This means there is no gap in their productivity and profitability.”
Singleton says that he started as a contractor in Victoria and South Australia. He founded Loadex Hire in 1996 and it’s grown into a successful, multi-branch business.
“Diversifying our business to ensure we service our customers in as many ways as we can has always been important to us,” he says. “The time is right for us to expand our business to include sales.”
Loadex will sell the full line of Kobelco equipment under the new agreement, which Singleton says came about due to Kobelco’s unwavering support, high product quality, low maintenance requirements, ease of operation and fuel efficiency.
“These machines have really proven themselves in the tough hire market so we know they’re a good choice for buyers as well,” he adds.
Kobelco sales and service general manager Doug McQuinn says the company is “looking forward to taking this next step alongside a highly respected dealer”.
