With new technologies and the support of Metso Outotec, the McCloskey range of mobile  screening and crushing equipment is now even better, its local  distributor says.

MSC Group CEO of sales and hire Kirwan Barr says the McCloskey products are now fully realising the benefits of the corporate deal, which took place more than two years ago.

That deal saw the then-privately owned McCloskey International acquired by what was then Metso, a Finnish industrial machinery company.

Barr says the company, now known as Metso Outotec, is well known among quarry operators for its Metso crushing chambers, which he says are highly regarded and well-proven.

“Quality, performance, and durability would be the key features of the Metso crushing chambers,” he says.

“Metso is a premium brand; it is generally accepted to be one of the leading crushing and screening equipment OEMs globally.”

With McCloskey now fully owned by Metso Outotec, the company has started using its crushing chambers in the McCloskey range of tracked crushers– a change Barr says has very much been welcomed by his customers.

McCloskey International has also recently developed 365siteconnex, a telematics system that enables customers to monitor the operation parameters and performance of their equipment in real time.

“The system is inbuilt to the machines so that customers, operators and owners can log in to the website and to see what a crusher is actually doing,” Barr explains.

“With satellite positioning and telematics software, 365siteconnex enables users to stay connected and keep track of their equipment, monitor work progress, track fuel consumption, access critical machine information, analyse and optimise machine performance and receive alerts when services are due.”

Aside from its high performance and durability, Barr adds that ‘wears and spares’ are more readily available because of the sheer number of Metso crushing chambers in operation.

That said, as the sole authorised distributors of McCloskey International products in Australia’s eastern states and the Pacific Islands, MSC has an extensive inventory of spare parts at its three branches in Brisbane, Newcastle and Melbourne; as well as a dedicated service team to assist customers if required.

First established in 1986, MSC secured distribution rights for the complete range of McCloskey products in January 2008, with Barr saying the brand McCloskey is well known as an innovative and premium brand within the industry.

“We are very excited to be now seeing the benefits of the acquisition, with innovations and even better build quality across the range of models and what this now means for our customers,” Barr says.

He sees this as being because of improved systems, procedures, training and manufacturing processes adopted from the parent company

“Aftermarket support is a high priority to the Metso organisation,” he says.

“This has flowed through to McCloskey, so we now receive much better backup and support.”

That is in addition to McCloskey’s new 24/7 service help desk for dealers – which Barr says creates a much more efficient way of resolving any potential issues and helps our customers get back up and running much faster.

MSC Group have been a leading supplier of mobile screening & crushing equipment since 1986 and are also the Eastern Australian distributors for the range of equipment manufactured by McCloskey International which is backed up by workshop facilities and onsite field service based in Brisbane, Newcastle & Melbourne.

MSC are currently recruiting plant mechanics to join their motivated and dedicated team, this is an opportunity for a career with a family owned business that values its people and also has a strong culture of teamwork, quality and safety.
