Metso introduces three next-generation cone crushers

Metso’s Nordberg HPe cone crushers series has been expanded with two upgraded units and a completely new addition

Metso is introducing three next-generation cone crushers, HP600e, HP800e and HP900e, to its Nordberg HPe series.

The units maintain the HPe features while extending the series to larger crushing capacities for both aggregates production and high-demand mining applications.

HP600e and HP900e are an evolution of the existing range, while the HP800e is a new addition to the series with a crushing size option of 600kW (800hp).

All three units come with two automation platform options – IC70C and MCP – which Metso says provide better visibility, monitoring and control of the crushing process, and enable connection to remote monitoring and further digital services.

“The evolution of Metso’s cone crusher technology brings multiple benefits and presents a true step change in terms of performance, uptime, serviceability and application coverage,” product manager of HP cones at Metso’s Aggregates business area Ilkka Somero says.

“We are excited to expand the Nordberg HPe series and bring to market a wider offering of these high-performance crushers fit for different production purposes.”

Metso says the Nordberg HP600e, HP800e and HP900e units offer up to 15 per cent more capacity and 35 per cent greater crushing force compared to equivalent cone crushers in the same class.

All three units feature new optimised crushing chambers, head spinning reduction and ring bouncing detection to reach optimum capacity and maximum wear life.

Safer maintenance is also provided when changing wear parts, thanks to a new feed cone lifting tool.

“Efficiency is the key to meeting the industry’s needs,” Metso director of gyratory and large cone crushers Nicolas Gallay says.

“With the robust new HPe units, we can offer performance, longer lifetime and higher cost efficiency to our customers.”
