Easy to move and able to handle heavy loads, Metso’s Nordtrack S2.11 mobile scalping screen was the obvious fit for a Central Queensland coal mine, according to local supplier Tutt Bryant Equipment
A contractor working on a Central Queensland coal mine is the first in Australia to start using the Nordtrack S2.11 scalping screen, produced by Metso Outotec, after the product was delivered in early October by distributor Tutt Bryant Equipment.
Able to handle “massive” volumes of feed material due to its large screenbox and powerful stockpiling conveyors, the Nordtrack S2.11 can be used for many tasks, from primary scalping to tertiary screening.
Designed for high mobility between sites, the Nordtrack range comes in standard configurations for asphalt recycling, separating organic materials and aggregate production.
The contractor also bought a Nordtrack CT100 mobile conveyor to provide material to the screen, using its 31m conveyor to potentially create a stockpile 12m high.
Since the Nordtrack S2.11 and CT100 have been operational, the client reports that it has been consistently achieving 20 per cent over its required production target, Tutt Bryant says.
Tutt Bryant Equipment’s crushing and screening account manager Darrell Porter had been in discussion with operations staff at the mine since 2018, providing them with information about the various products available.
“The Metso Outotec difference is the depth of technical information to support the equipment selection for the application,” says Porter about the large volume of information provided to the customer to assist its decision-making process.
“The size, stockpile height and aftermarket support made this model the ideal screen choice for the customer,” Tutt Bryant adds.
