New 953K track loader from Cat set to hit Aus in July

Cat’s new track loader offers agility and versatility – with the new model set to start shipping in July.

Offering 20 per cent more productivity and a 10 per cent reduction in fuel consumption, Cat’s replacement for the 953K track loader will set sail for Australia in July.

Cat adds that the new 953 track loader is designed with a more agile size to help it work efficiently in tight spaces, as well as a series of new technologies to make job site management easier.

This includes the Product Link and VisionLink packages that collect and enable access to information from equipment assets, as well as the offer of an operator ID – which enables each operator to save their preferred machine settings.

The operator is also front of mind with the interior cabin design, with an updated suspension seat, adjustable armrests and controls and a 25cm touchscreen dash display with a high definition rearview camera.

Operators can use either a joystick or V-lever and pedal steering for transmission controls and either a joystick or two levers for implement control – with each operator able to create their own settings for their preferred type of implement response.

Cat says the new track loader has a 160 horsepower (119kW) engine, complete with an auto mode that adapts engine speed to the weight of the load carried.

The track loader also has a Power mode, which keeps engine speeds high for a feed of readily available power, and an Eco mode for lighter duty applications.

It comes with a general purpose bucket with a capacity of 1.8 cubic metres, but a 2.1 cubic metre performance bucket is also available as an option, as is a fusion quick coupler for fast attachment changes.

Purpose-built low ground pressure (LGP), waste handling, ship hold and partial steel mill machines are also available, with specialised undercarriages, guarding and other features,
