New leadership for the Australian Constructors Association in 2026

The Australian Constructors Association has commenced its search for a new CEO

The Australian Constructors Association has announced its CEO Jon Davies will step down at the end of June 2026, after six years of leadership.

In recent years, the ACA has navigated challenging market conditions for its members including the COVID pandemic and price escalations.

In that time, the ACA initiated the National Construction Strategy, shaped the Industry Blueprint, it was an active sponsor of the Culture Standard whereby it funded the development and established the Construction Industry Culture Taskforce (CICT) that delivered it, and successfully advocated for the Culture Standard’s adoption by governments.

It has committed to transforming the industry’s culture through a landmark pledge, including encouraging greater female participation in construction, and requiring 50 per cent of newly appointed Board Directors to be female.

“Jon has been instrumental in positioning the ACA as a leading voice for change in the construction industry. We thank him for his efforts over the last 6 years as we have tackled important issues with our stakeholders and put in place key initiatives to improve the sustainability of our industry,” ACA president Annabel Crookes says.

Davies says it has been a privilege to lead the ACA during such a transformative period.

“I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together, particularly in building strong, trusted partnerships between government and industry to deliver better outcomes for everyone,” he says.

“Whilst I step down as ACA CEO, I remain committed to the industry and look forward to continuing to collaborate with the ACA and its members to drive positive change across the construction sector.”

The ACA Board has commenced a process to appoint a new CEO for the ACA.
