The 1.7-tonne 18Z-1 mini excavator is now available in Australia
JCB has released the new 18Z-1 mini excavator – a 1.7-tonne zero tail swing machine that the UK manufacturer says has a high level of durability, performance and safety features. It is available in Australia through Australian distributor JCB CEA.
The 18Z-1 is equipped with a full-width 173kg rear cast counterweight that protects against site damage, along with 10 tie-down points for easy and safe transportation.
Accessing cleaning and maintenance points is made easy with the 180° opening bi-fold service door, simplifying checks and maintenance tasks.
JCB says that the 18Z-1’s hydraulic system enabling operators to smoothly multitask various excavator functions with full power. The unique ‘2Go’ hydraulic isolation system mitigates risks by requiring deliberate, dual inputs for operational control, ensuring a secure operational environment. Additionally, the two-post ROPS, TOPS and FOGS certified canopy offers operators enhanced visibility and safety.
On the control side, the track lever design and T-bar controls offer swift and efficient machine manipulation, contributing to enhanced productivity and safety, JCB says. Redesigned track legs reduce material retention, making undercarriage cleaning quicker and easier. The dozer blade’s enhanced geometry prevents material build-up, and the dozer blade extensions can be swung out without tools, ensuring unobstructed movement.
The 18Z-1 has a maximum dig depth of 2.4m and a maximum dump height of 2.6m. The undercarriage extends from 980mm to 1,330mm and the 18Z-1 can slew through 360 degrees with a full 1,000mm batter bucket.
