Olympus Loaders’ Construction Series loaders

Producing customised wheel loaders, as well as a range of attachments, the team at Olympus Loaders uses years of experience to find the best solutions

With high quality components and years of experience, wheel loader specialist Olympus Loaders is committed to building and designing the best machines for its customers.

Company owner Simon Collins has 30 years of industry experience, 10 of them specialising in wheel loaders, and uses all of it to make sure his customers get the perfect loader for their needs.

Olympus can custom build a loader to requirements in 45 days, all assembled in Australia, with the company even offering its experience at the build specification stage.

The company imports eight different loaders in its construction series, ranging in power from 110 to 295 horsepower (82 to 220kW) and in lift capacity from 1 to 7.5 tonnes.

The largest unit in the range, the YX677, comes with a 5.2 cubic metre general purpose bucket as standard, as well as a long wheelbase, ZL and ZF transmission and a dry brake system combining air over hydraulic disc brakes.

All models come with auto lube systems, larger cooling radiators and high-volume fans as standard, and are built with heavy duty sub frames and booms to endure heavy workloads.

Once a buyer has selected a base model, the team at Olympus can create a wheel loader built entirely to the customer’s specifications.

This can be anything from a highly specced machine with German ZF automatic transmission to one with a heavy-duty planetary system, with long reach booms or other accessories.

The loaders are assembled and sold at Olympus’s base in Loganholme, Queensland, as well as through dealers in: Charmhaven, NSW; Rockhampton, Queensland; Wendouree, Victoria; and in Kadina and Millicent in South Australia.

Its national dealer network is backed by an extended three to five-year factory-backed warranty that is offered on all units.

However, Olympus says it is proud to be able to able to cover customers wherever they are in Australia, offering 24/7 support and finding local mechanics to work with the units where needed.

The company backs its wheel loaders with some of the industry’s best-known brands – including Cummins engines, ZF transmissions, Meritor Axle Groups and Eaton Pumps.

Cummins engines can be serviced Australia-wide and are backed by a two-year standard warranty, with four- or five-year warranties on request, and building them without high tech computers means work is never held up because of a glitch.

“Olympus YX HD Series products are leading the way for quality and reliability,” the company says.

“We are not a big name brand building a cheaper product to sell; the Olympus YX Series is a high quality product using big name brands to supply the best product possible to our market.”

With his base in Queensland, Collins has been more able than many to get out to field days across the state to investigate what buyers are looking for, using that advice to better plan for what customers want in the year ahead.

Collins says demand has been high for stick rakes as buyers see increasing value in having a wheel loader in place of a dozer, acquiring a more versatile machine for less money.

Olympus also manufactures buckets, forks, rippers and scales for the wheel loader range.

In 2021, demand has been strong among farmers and other regional buyers, with Olympus adding to its Farm Master Series of articulated wheel loaders as a result.

The new Olympus FL927C 110hp (82kW) articulated wheel loader comes with a Cummins engine and a new Beilian four-speed transmission, as well as a long wheelbase with large breakout and traction force.

Boasting a two-year factory warranty guarantee, the wheel loader comes with a 1.2 cubic metre capacity bucket, an enlarged cabin and upgraded hydraulic and electrical systems, with lightbars fitted at the front and rear.

Olympus is adding to its regional offering with its YX tractor series -– five compact models from 50–90hp (37–67kW) and three larger models with 150, 180 and 220hp (112, 134 and 164kW).

Each come complete with a reinforced drive system and diff locks and counterweights on all models.

All tractors come equipped with a power take-off, boast a rollover protection system cab or canopy, a wet breaking system and a dry dual/ single action clutch, with upgraded hydraulics and a large, ergonomic cabin.

Olympus has also added to its Yard Master range of articulated wheel loaders, with its 3.5 tonne capacity, 175hp (131kW) LX1100 and four-tonne capacity, 180hp (134kW) LX1200C now in stock.

Both units come complete with hydraulic hitches, a dry brake system, upgraded air conditioning and modern controls including a large rear vision camera. Olympus’ TL528 telescopic wheel loader completes the lineup, with the 100hp (75kW), 2.8 tonne capacity machine built with a Cummins 4BT3.9-C100 engine and similar hydraulic and electrical upgrades.
