JCB unveils new flagship Loadall

According to JCB, its new flagship telescopic handler- the Loadall 540-200 is capable of lifting up to 20m which is higher than any other rigid telehandler on the market.

The machine also has a load capacity of four tonnes.

JCB Product Manager Greg Sealey says the new Loadall has been designed to meet industry demand for increased lift heights and forward reach capabilities.

“With fast cycle times, it will set a new benchmark for productivity,” he says.

JCB adds the boom has been specifically designed for the construction market using lighter and higher grade material to improve the capacity of the machine at reach.

“A five-stage boom design ensures overall machine length is kept to a minimum and that site manoeuvrability is maximised,” Sealey says.

“The design provides optimum forward visibility, allowing for quick and easy changes in direction.”

The boom nose features a one piece design to minimise stresses on the inner boom during operation, and the nose is fitted with a JCB Clearview carriage for quick interchange of attachments.

“The excellent forward visibility of fork mounted loads makes it easier for operators to accurately lift and place loads and there is also the option of a fork positioning attachment which is simply operated through the standard single auxiliary,” Sealey says.

He adds the machine’s stabiliser package is set forward to maximise stability even at great working heights, hence improving operation safety.

The 540-200 uses the same driveline as the Loadall 540-170 model and is fitted with a JCB Dieselmax 100hp engine. It also features a large bonnet which provides easy access to daily check points.

In addition to meeting demands for a greater lift height, Sealey says the machine has also been designed with ease of use and operator safety and comfort in mind.

“A cab-mounted servo controlled joystick provides effortless control of all the hydraulic services and instruments are offset to one side of the cab to ensure excellent forward visibility,” he says.

“Angled roof bars provide excellent upward visibility, which is so important for fast placing of loads at height.”
