Bobcat launches new M-series loaders

Following its launch overseas last year, Bobcat’s new medium-sized M-series loaders have recently arrived on Australian shores.

Models available in the country include three skid steer loaders – the S510, S550, S590 and one track loader T590.

According to Australian Bobcat distributor Clark Equipment, the new M-series will be replacing the K-series loaders. More specifically, the S510 will replace the S150; the S550 the S160; the S590 the S185 and S205; and the T590 the T190.

Bobcat says the new 500 frame-sized skid-steer and track loaders feature extensive upgrades including increased visibility, a more comfortable cab and easier serviceability.

The machines feature a unique cab-forward design that not only give the machines a different look, but also moves the operator closer to the attachment and provide increased visibility.

The cab door threshold has been lowered and the overall surface of the door has increased more than 40 per cent to provide improved visibility and make it easier for operators to enter and exit the cab.

Overall, Bobcat has increased the 500 loader cab by 10 per cent and redesigned the interior to allow operators to adjust the environment to their individual preferences.

The pressurised cab comes with a new one-piece seal that goes all the way around the door and fits into a special curved pocket. That minimises the amount of dirt and dust that might enter the cab, creating more enjoyable working conditions and making it easier to clean the cab.

Operators have the choice between standard foot pedal hydraulic controls or the Selectable Joystick Controls (SJC).

The standard foot pedals control the lift and tilt through mechanical linkage whereas the low effort control levers of the optional SJC can be operated in the ISO or H pattern.

Bobcat adds the new M-series has increased hydraulic performance over the K-series equivalents, enabling operators to efficiently accomplish more work.

The hydraulic systems on the new series have been engineered for higher standard flow and pressure, which gives attachments more power to work more quickly.

The skid-steer models offer a two-speed option which boosts the maximum travel speed from 7.4mph in low range to 11mph in high range, reducing the time it takes to cross a large farm or acreage.

New job-enhancing features were added to the optional deluxe instrumentation panel. Available only on M-Series loaders, the panel intelligently monitors key loader functions, and the keyless start helps prevent theft.
