JCB recently unveiled its new TM320S Agri articulated telehandler which the company says is a unique cross between a wheel loader and a telehandler.
JCB Product Manager Greg Sealy says the new machine’s hybrid gives it the compact manoeuvrability of a wheel loader and the exceptional lift height of a telescopic boom.
“Its articulate and side shift functions allow for true precision in spot loading,” he says.
“Because it’s so highly manoeuvrable, the TM320S is specifically suited to ag tasks like grain handling, as it can easily get in and out of storage and around obstacles.
“It has controls like a wheel loader, all at the operator’s fingertips, so navigating tricky spaces is very simple.”
The TM320S is powered by a 108kW JCB EcoMAX engine and features an oscillating centre joint, permanent four-wheel drive and a 6-speed JCB Powershift transmission.
According to Sealy, it has a forward reach of three metres, a lift capacity of 3.2 tonnes and a lift height of 5.2 metres.
“What that means is exceptional productivity across a big range of agricultural tasks,” he says.
JCB adds the TM320S has been built for ease of use and all-day comfort. It features an on-screen display of hydraulic flow rate, which can be adjusted on-the-go; a variable speed cooling fan to reduce noise and an instrument cluster designed for intuitive use.
The model also offers the option of two boom auxiliaries with in-cab changeover switch and standard in-cab quick hitch pin isolation.
Sealy adds serviceability has also been built into the design.
“All servicing can be done from ground level for maximum safety, while a cyclonic pre-filter and air intake scavenge system prevents build-up of debris in the cooling pack,” he says.
He adds the TM320S is a perfect example of the way JCB is continuing its tradition of innovation in agriculture.
