Mining safety guide 2014 released

Pro-Visual Publishing has released its mining safety guide for the year, which is distributed free of charge to mining companies nationwide.

Mining Safety Pro -Visual 2014

The guide, published annually, aims to outline the hazards and risks associated with mining and how operators and workers can manage the risks appropriately.

The Mining Industry Guide to Workplace Safety 2014 focuses on the importance of establishing a Work Health and Safety Management System (WHSMS) to ensure the safe operation of a mine.

Also prominent topics of this year’s guide are “Ventilation” and “Road and Other Vehicle Operating Areas”.

Pro-Visual says the latter topic is of great significance due to hazards that may be present when operating a mining vehicle, whether it be on the roads or in mining operation areas. The guide outlines factors operators should pay attention to such as lighting, traffic rules, restricted access areas etc.

The guide was published with support from the Australian Mines & Metals Association and the Mineral Industry Safety & Health Centre.
