New Yanmar excavators arrive in Australia

Yanmar Construction Equipment has unveiled two new mini excavator models - the Vio45-6 and Vio55-6 to the Australian market.

The 4-5 tonne class Dash 6 models were developed over four years with the aim of improving overall performance compared to their predecessors.

Both machines are equipped with new Yanmar engines matched with improved hydraulics for maximum performance as well as a newly designed eco-mode and auto-deceleration controls Yanmar says will offer fuel savings of up to 20 per cent over previous models.

In addition to better fuel savings, Yanmar says the new models, with their improved hydraulic pumps, lighter booms, bigger radiators and tougher undercarriages have proven in field tests that they have a 10 per cent increase in digging and dumping performance over the previous Dash 5 models.

A new LCD action monitor provides a daily readout to assist with maintenance and monitors service intervals for the operator.

The undercarriages have been strengthened and the size of the idler, track roller and drive sprocket increased to ensure strength and durability.

Returning features that come standard with the models include integrated ROPS/FOPS Canopy and Guards. The Yanmar designed arm cylinder guard, bucket cylinder guard and boom cylinder guard now come with reinforced steel bonnets for improved durability.

The boom has been redesigned on the Vio45-6 and Vio55-6 and whilst the 2.95m length has been maintained, the weight has been reduced by 39kg.

Ergonomic controls is also part of the package with right hand access designed for all controls including the quick hitch control, LCD action monitor, air con outlets and more.
